The new location will accommodate a larger audience without changing the planned artistic programme.

No specific figure has been announced for the increase in capacity, so the move should not be interpreted as a guarantee of unlimited ticket availability. What matters is that Muelle de la Sal offers greater capacity for these events while allowing each performance to retain its date and time.

The change comes after Hotel Triana had been presented as one of the major returning venues of the 2026 edition. The former communal courtyard building was due to resume its role as a late-night setting four years after its previous appearance at the Biennial.

Public demand has ultimately reshaped that initial plan. All three productions retain their Noches Únicas identity, but move from an intimate residential courtyard to an open space beside the Guadalquivir, in one of central Seville’s most recognisable areas.

What Muelle de la Sal brings as the new setting

The Muelle de la Sal lies on the left bank of the Guadalquivir, beside the Puente de Isabel II and opposite Triana. Historically associated with Seville’s old port, it is now a broad pedestrian area beside the river.

Its location significantly changes the experience originally envisaged for these three nights. Hotel Triana offered the domestic scale of a communal courtyard, with galleries and a very close relationship between stage and audience. Muelle de la Sal, by contrast, places flamenco outdoors, open to Seville’s cityscape and river views.

The location is not new to the Biennial. The area around Muelle de la Sal has previously hosted flamenco activities and celebrations linked to the festival and World Flamenco Day. In 2026 it also features among the Biennial’s official venues.

The site is on Paseo Marqués de Contadero, near Triana Bridge, the Maestranza bullring and Paseo de Cristóbal Colón. The singing will be in the hands of Remedios Amaya, Montse Cortés and La Fabi, three voices with very different careers and personalities, united by an understanding of flamenco rooted in family experience, transmission and stagecraft.

Guitar accompaniment will be provided by Josemi Carmona and José Serrano. The line-up also includes Israel Suárez «Piraña» on percussion, Álvaro Llanos on bass and Los Cherokee on backing vocals and rhythmic handclapping.

The production grew out of the project La verdad duele and places Gitana women at its centre. The original concept was developed with Hotel Triana’s distinctive character in mind; following the move, the same cast will now perform in the open setting of Muelle de la Sal.

Remedios Amaya also has particularly strong ties to Triana and the recent history of Seville’s flamenco scene. Her appearance alongside Montse Cortés and La Fabi makes this one of the most striking vocal encounters of the Biennial’s second week.

18 September: Uvitas negras and 75 years of El Pozo de las Penas

Friday the 18th, again at 23:00, brings Uvitas negras, a performance created to mark the 75th anniversary of the Peña El Pozo de las Penas in Los Palacios y Villafranca.

The evening will bring together several generations of artists from Los Palacios. The line-up includes Itoly de Los Palacios, Juan «El Distinguido», Nene Escalera, Manuel Orta, Miguel Ortega, José Ángel Carmona, Anabel de Vico and Juanelo. Dance will be provided by Juan Manuel «El Mistela», whose return to a Seville stage is one of the production’s main attractions.

The guitarists will be Niño Fraile, Salvador Gutiérrez and Juan Requena. The production is directed by Manuel Curao.

The title recalls the street-vendor song that Manolo Caracol dedicated to the grapes of Los Palacios and provides the thread for an evening focused on the memory of one of the most influential flamenco associations in the Seville area. The complete line-up remains unchanged despite the venue move.

19 September: Andalucía en el tiempo

The third event will be Andalucía en el tiempo, on Saturday 19 September at 23:00. The performance explores the regional diversity of flamenco singing through artists associated with different Andalusian provinces.

Taking part will be José Sorroche, from Almería; Paqui Corpas, from Málaga; Jaime «El Parrón», from Granada; Curro Lucena, from Córdoba; Joselete de Linares, from Jaén; El Boquerón, from Seville; Carmen de la Jara, from Cádiz; El Pecas, from Huelva; and Romerito de Jerez.

The guitarists will be Antonio Carrión and Eduardo Rebollar, with Antonio Amaya «Petete» and Emilio Castañeda providing rhythmic handclapping. Hotel Triana’s return carried strong symbolic significance: three late-night performances in a former communal courtyard, connecting the programme with Triana’s memory and an intimate way of experiencing flamenco.

High demand has made it necessary to prioritise a space that can welcome more people. The result will be different, but not necessarily any less distinctive. Muelle de la Sal places these three Noches Únicas at the foot of Triana Bridge, with the Guadalquivir as a backdrop, in a setting that is part of Seville’s most recognisable image.

For visitors, the key point is simple: there is no need to reorganise your schedule beyond the change of location. The dates are still 17, 18 and 19 September, all three performances begin at 23:00 and the announced line-ups remain unchanged.

As the change was announced just days before the Biennial begins, we recommend checking the official programme before travelling to the venue. We will also update our Biennial guides as the changes are reflected in each performance’s official listing.

And if you cannot get tickets for these evenings, Seville offers a wide choice of flamenco throughout the festival.
