# What to do in Seville from 5 to 11 October 2026: plans, flamenco and weekly events

## A week to keep enjoying Seville after the Bienal

The Flamenco Bienal has ended, but Seville’s cultural calendar does not stop. From **Monday 5 to Sunday 11 October 2026** the city combines flamenco in peñas and tablaos, the opening of the **17th Seville Guitar Festival**, leisure activities in Cartuja, crafts, gastronomy and new experiences in Triana.

In addition, the weekend of 10 and 11 October leads into **Monday 12 October, a national public holiday**, so higher visitor demand can be expected. If you want to see flamenco in a tablao, it is advisable to book in advance, especially from Friday to Sunday.

This guide brings together the week’s most interesting plans and suggests a simple way to organise them without trying to fit everything in.

**5–11**

### October 2026

**Monday · Tuesday · Wednesday · Thursday · Friday · Saturday · Sunday**

Flamenco · guitar · culture · heritage

Triana · City Centre · Cartuja · Seville East

A week leading into the 12 October long weekend

> Quick answer: highlights from 5 to 11 October include the opening of the Guitar Festival, several recitals in the Andalusian Peña Circuit, the arrival of Luminiscence at San Jacinto, the flamenco show A Gloria by Lucía Benavides, the Hecho en Sevilla craft fair and the Sabor a Flamenco gastronomy programme. Seville’s tablaos also continue to offer performances throughout the week.

**To organise your visit better:** book activities with fixed times first, then complete the day with walks, food or cultural visits. If flamenco is a priority, you can compare [**tablaos and flamenco shows in Seville**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/flamenco-in-seville) before finalising the rest of your itinerary.

## Monday 5: the Guitar Festival begins

On Monday, the **17th Seville Guitar Festival**, which in 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla’s birth under the theme *Falla’s Dreamed-of Guitar*.

The first event of the week is **Rody van Gemert and Juan José Eslava** with *The Other Side of the Strings*, at **20:00** at the Manuel Castillo Higher Conservatory of Music. Admission is announced as free until capacity is reached.

It is a good way to start the week after the Bienal: the guitar remains central, but the focus shifts to a festival combining classical repertoire, flamenco, historic instruments and new creations.

## A relaxed Monday to discover the city centre

If you are visiting, Monday works well for an easy-paced plan: monuments or a walk through Santa Cruz in the morning, lunch in the centre, a rest and a concert in the afternoon.

You can also visit the **Hecho en Sevilla. Creative Crafts**, set beside the Cathedral and the Archive of the Indies. It remains open until 13 October and offers a free plan without straying far from the main tourist routes.

To end the night, a tablao is a reliable option if you want live flamenco without depending on festivals or special programmes.

## Tuesday 6: historic guitar takes centre stage

The Guitar Festival continues on Tuesday with a new recital by **Rody van Gemert** at the Manuel Castillo Higher Conservatory of Music.

The programme for these opening days revolves around *La Perla*, a guitar built by Antonio de Torres in 1882. The recital is scheduled for **20:00** and once again offers an opportunity to explore the guitar through performance, instrument making and its history.

For anyone wanting to go deeper into the city’s musical culture, it is one of the most distinctive plans of the first half of the week.

## Alternative plan: science, family activities and an urban walk

During these days Seville also hosts activities linked to **World Space Week**. Fundación Cajasol offers several family-friendly and educational activities, including workshops and themed sessions.

A simple Tuesday plan is to spend the afternoon around Plaza de San Francisco and the historic centre, add a cultural activity and reserve the evening for guitar or flamenco.

If you are travelling with children, always check the timetable and access conditions for each activity before heading there.

## Wednesday 7: culture and leisure in Cartuja

Wednesday offers a change of pace. Cartuja Center welcomes **Víctor Küppers** as part of the Mentes Expertas series, with a session scheduled for **20:00**.

It is not a flamenco event, but it is an option for visitors looking to round out their stay with another kind of cultural and educational programme.

Cartuja is also close to other places of interest such as the Monastery of La Cartuja and the Guadalquivir riverfront, so you can plan the day by area and avoid unnecessary travel.

## What if you would rather see flamenco on Wednesday?

There is no need to wait until Thursday or the weekend. Seville’s **tablaos offer regular performances throughout the week**.

This is especially useful after the Bienal: even though there is no longer a large official programme concentrated in theatres, the city’s permanent offer still makes it possible to see singing, dance and guitar every night.

If you want to understand which format suits you best, you can also read our guide to [**how long a flamenco show lasts and the best time to go**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/how-long-is-a-flamenco-show.html).

## Thursday 8: one of the week’s major flamenco evenings

Peñas, guitar and performances let you choose between several plans, each with its own character.

### 19:30 · Anabel Valencia

The singer **Anabel Valencia** performs in the Andalusian Peña Circuit at **Peña Sentir Flamenco**, linked to Pablo de Olavide University.

It is one of the week’s free events and a chance to experience flamenco in a setting different from a tablao or a large theatre.

### 20:00 · Armando Mateos

At **20:00**, singer **Armando Mateos** takes part in the same circuit at the **Tertulia Flamenca Calixto Sánchez Marín**, in Seville.

Peñas play a fundamental role in passing flamenco on, and this circuit offers a way into that world through recitals spread across the city and province.

### 21:00 · Carmesí Guitar Duo

The Guitar Festival also reaches the metropolitan area. **Carmesí Guitar Duo** presents *Echoes of Falla* in Tomares, with a programme that engages with the music of Manuel de Falla and other composers.

If you choose this plan, remember that it involves travelling outside central Seville.

You can see the full recital schedule in our guide to the [**Andalusian Peña Circuit in Seville 2026**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/andalusian-flamenco-club-circuit-seville-2026.html).

## Friday 9: Luminiscence arrives in Triana

On Friday, one of Seville’s new autumn attractions opens at **San Jacinto Parish Church** : **Luminiscence**, an immersive experience combining video mapping, history and music.

The announced sessions begin at **19:00 and 20:45**. La ubicación, en plena calle San Jacinto, hace que sea fácil convertirlo en una tarde o noche completa en Triana.

Puedes pasear por el barrio, cruzar el puente, cenar en la zona y, según el horario elegido, completar la noche con flamenco.

## 21:00 · Luis Perdiguero at Peña La Polea

Also on Friday, **Luis Perdiguero** performs at **21:00** at **Peña Flamenca La Polea** as part of the Andalusian Peña Circuit.

For visitors who want to discover different ways of experiencing flamenco, this week offers an interesting contrast: peñas with free recitals, tablaos with regular programming and larger-scale stage productions.

If you plan to move between Triana and another part of the city, leave enough time between activities and avoid overly tight schedules.

## Saturday 10: flamenco and the start of the long weekend

Saturday brings together several plans and, for many people, marks the practical start of the long weekend, as Monday 12 October is a national public holiday.

At **15:30**, **Macarena de Jerez** takes part in the Andalusian Peña Circuit at **Tertulia Flamenca Sevilla Este**.

In the evening, Cartuja Center presents **Lucía Benavides** with *A Gloria* at **21:00**. It is the dancer’s first solo show and takes a journey through different flamenco forms as a tribute to her mother, Eva Gloria.

## More options for Saturday

Luminiscence continues with sessions at San Jacinto, while Espacio Turina presents *El año pasado por agua*, by the Compañía Sevillana de Zarzuela, at **20:00**.

Cartuja Center also offers other leisure options during the day and evening. If you are travelling in a group, it can be practical to split up according to interests and meet later for dinner or to attend a tablao together.

For regular flamenco programming, Saturday is one of the days when it is especially advisable to **book online in advance**.

## Sunday 11: a day to slow the pace

Sunday is a good day to enjoy Seville without filling your schedule with back-to-back appointments. You can spend the morning in the historic centre, Triana, by the river or at one of the museums, and keep the afternoon for an activity with a fixed time.

Luminiscence continues with sessions at San Jacinto and Espacio Turina again presents *El año pasado por agua*, with performances announced throughout the day.

Cartuja Center’s leisure programme also continues.

## Flamenco to end the week

If flamenco is the main purpose of your trip, Sunday works very well for booking a tablao. Because you are not relying on a single festival performance, you can choose the time that best fits sightseeing and dinner.

The Andalusian Peña Circuit also continues in the province, with recitals in different towns. If you have a car and want to widen your visit, check the full calendar before leaving the city.

For free options in and around the city, you can also see our guide to [**free flamenco in Seville**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/free-flamenco-seville.html).

## Plans available throughout the week

Not everything depends on a specific date: some plans can fit into almost any day.

### Hecho en Sevilla

The **5th Creative Crafts Fair** remains beside the Cathedral and the Archive of the Indies until 13 October.

The announced opening hours are **10:00 to 14:30 and 18:00 to 21:00**. Admission is free and the fair brings together contemporary craft workshops and local creators.

It works particularly well as an addition to a visit to the city centre.

### Sabor a Flamenco

The **25th Gastronomy Days of Seville and Provincial Hotels** continue until 25 October under the theme *Sabor a Flamenco*.

Numerous hotels take part with tapas, dishes or menus inspired by flamenco. You can find ideas and combinations in our guide to [**Sabor a Flamenco Seville 2026**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/sabor-a-flamenco-seville-2026-hotels-gastronomy-tablao.html).

### La noche azul

The exhibition **La noche azul: Flamenco Opera in the Carlos Martín Ballester collection** continues in Seville after the Bienal.

It is an especially interesting plan for anyone who wants to go beyond the performance itself and learn about a key period in flamenco history.

You can find more information in our guide to [**La noche azul**](https://www.tablaosflamencos.com/en/the-blue-night-flamenco-opera-seville-biennial-2026.html).

## How to organise the week if you are visiting Seville

The best strategy is to combine one main plan with one or two complementary activities rather than trying to see everything.

### If you are visiting during the week

**Morning:** Cathedral, Alcázar, Santa Cruz, Museum of Fine Arts or a walk along the Guadalquivir.

**Afternoon:** crafts, a cultural activity or rest.

**Evening:** Guitar Festival, peña or tablao depending on the day.

From Monday to Thursday it is usually easier to build an itinerary with breathing room and avoid the concentration of the weekend.

### If you are visiting on Friday or Saturday

**Friday:** Triana and Luminiscence, a peña or a tablao.

**Saturday:** historic centre or gastronomy during the day and flamenco in the afternoon or evening.

As this is the start of the 12 October long weekend, it is advisable to book restaurants, shows and limited-capacity activities further in advance.

### If you only have one day

Do not try to cross the city several times. Choose one area and build your route around it.

**City centre:** monuments + Hecho en Sevilla + tablao.

**Triana:** market and walk + San Jacinto + flamenco.

**Cartuja:** culture or leisure + dinner + show.

Staying close by is often more important than adding one more activity to the schedule.

## Flamenco continues after the Bienal

The main idea this week is simple: **the end of the Bienal does not mean the end of flamenco in Seville**.

The peña circuit continues with recitals, the Guitar Festival opens a new chapter in the autumn cultural season, and tablaos continue their regular programming. For visitors, this means choosing between very different experiences: the community atmosphere of a peña, a guitar-centred concert, a stage production or the intimacy of a tablao.

If you are coming to Seville specifically for flamenco, a good strategy is to book at least one tablao evening and use the rest of the agenda to discover other sides of the city. That way, your trip does not depend on a single performance or last-minute ticket availability.
